
BT chairman puts his head on the block...

BT chairman Sir Christopher Bland has promised to resign if the demerger of wireless division mm02 is a failure.
He told investors at an extraordinary general meeting: I certainly will [quit] if our proposals do not deliver shareholder value... I'll be off - you won't have to ask me to go - I'll be off."
Bland faced over two hours of questioning from angry investors.
Over 90 per cent of investors eventually voted to approve the plans for the demerger.
