Toshiba is ploughing on with plans to triple production of colour mobile phone displays despite worrying noises from the market.
In a strong message to mobile phone manufacturers - including Nokia - who have predicted a sharp slowdown in handset demand, the world's second largest chipmaker said it would produce five million panels in the next six months.
In the first six months of its financial year, the Japanese firm produced just 1.5 million colour liquid crystal displays.
