BT Wireless, the mobile phone unit of the UK incumbent telco, incorporating BT Cellnet, has named Andrew Sukawaty as deputy chairman and Paul Myners as a non-executive director.

Sukawaty joins chairman David Varney at the head of the compnay as it prepares to be spun-off later this year as part of BT's reorganisation.

Prior to his appointment at BT Wireless, Sukawaty was president of cable television and broadband business Callahan Associates International LCC.

Myners is chairman of Gartmore Investment Management.

Both men will take up their positions later this summer.
