The race to roll out 3G networks and share the financial burden continues, this time with Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia agreeing to roll out Hutchison Whampoa's 3G network in the UK.

Nokia will supply core network equipment and then work with Japan's NEC to provide kit for the radio access network.
Hutchison said it had completed a £3.6bn round of financing to enable the venture to be fully funded until the service launch in 2002.
Last month Hutchison, which owns a 65 per cent stake in licence winner UK 3G, said it expected to spend £2bn over the next four years in setting up the network.
Hutchison holds the rights to the largest UMTS licence in the UK through its joint venture with NTT DoCoMo and KPN Mobile.
