Mobile phone operator, One 2 One, is set to double its customer service team over the next two years, creating 2,000 jobs in the process.
The plans will consolidate Glasgow, the North East and Yorkshire as the call centre capitals of the UK.
One 2 One has begun recruiting staff at its call centre in Greenock, near Glasgow, which is due to open before the end of the year. There will be at least 800 new jobs created in Greenock, 500 in the Dearne Valley Enterprise Zone in South Yorkshire, and 300 jobs at its Doxford International centre in Sunderland, the company said.
One 2 One added that it would be investing a total of £50m in customer services over the next three years.
