NEWSFLASH: Mobile phone firm 'not guilty' of ignoring health warnings

By Tony Hallett

Mobile phone firms are in the clear this morning after a test case in Wales found a shop owner 'not guilty' of selling handsets without a warning in spite of alleged health risks.

Roger Coghill, a 58-year old biologist, put shop owner Wayne Morgan, 41, in the dock, after he bought two hand sets - one Philips, one Nokia - from Morgan's store in Pontypool.

Coghill alleged that mobile phones can cause health problems and therefore should not be sold without a health warning.

But the court dismissed the case late yesterday after finding Morgan and his shop, Mobile Communications Services, not guilty.
