3Com has confirmed that two top-level executives of its Palm Computing division are to leave to form their own company.
Jeff Hawkins, founder of the Palm division and Donna Dubinsky, 3Com vice president and general manager of the division, are to due to leave on Friday. However, they will continue to be involved in Palm Computing, as their company will licence and make hardware for the Palm platform.
Janice Roberts, 3Com senior vice president of global marketing and business development, said: "Jeff and Donna have decided to return to the small entrepreneurial world, and to create a new start-up company."
