Good point, Peter. I think that your concluding remark sums it up: "most technical problems will be solved within the next couple of years." Therefore, whoever is able to deploy and exploit this new interactive, personalized form of TV will be in the cat bird's seat.

I think we are in radical agreement in that whether it be incumbent (e.g. cable) or newbie (e.g. telecom)--whoever masters the next phase is key to the outcome.
