I agree with your upbeat assessment of the future of IPTV in general, but you fail to discuss the barriers to entry for Telcos who are at an inherent disadvantage relative to Cablecos and Satcos. Telcos are new to media issues, have few good media deals that Cablecos and Satcos have long had, and are currently spending a fortune on NGNs (New generation IP Networks). They will be severely indebted for years (as Cablecos were when they introduced Internet access), and this may limit their freedom of movement. I agree that most technical problems will be solved within the next couple of years.
