This article assumes that the management will use the information properly. My experience of supermarket's attention to customers is not good. for example I like a certain well known brand of thick cut wholemeal bread but despite many complaints the Sainsbury and Tesco supermarkets near me are frequently out of stock. They devote about a metre of shelf space to all the products of the brand I like. They do however have many metres of shelf space full of white bread. I expect they think that because they don't sell much there is no demand though the demand is not being met.
