Cliff Stanford, founder of internet hotel firm Redbus, has announced his plans to return to the company as CEO.

Stanford has called an extraordinary general meeting for 5 August at which he proposes a vote on replacing the current chairman and two senior execs.

Entrepreneur Dan Wagner has accepted Stanford's invitation to become the next chairman if the move is successful, according to a report in the Financial Times. Wagner, who would replace John Porter, reportedly said shareholders would be "crazy" not to back Stanford's coup.
