France Telecom looks set to end its dispute with German partner MobilCom by making a bid for Gerhard Schmid's stake in the company.
Schmid, CEO and founder of MobilCom, is thought to have been offered 2.75 shares in Orange, owned by France Telecom, for every one of the MobilCom shares which make up his 33 per cent stake in the company.
The deal would value the MobilCom shares at E22 (£13.50) - representing a healthy premium on the E13 (£8) they were trading at last week.
