Bill Gates gets (even) richer

$62.7m extra cash comes Bill's way...

Bill Gates has increased his personal fortune by $62.7m through the sale of one million Microsoft shares.

Prior to the sale Gates held 650.6 million common shares in the software giant and this latest sale barely puts a dent in that considerable portfolio.

In the past year Gates has seen the value of his holding in Microsoft diminish as the Seattle giant succumbed to the downturn. He even lost his 'world's richest man' status for a while - usurped by supermarket tycoon Robson Walton.
