ebookers unphased by travel doom and gloom

Online brands continue to defy the downturn...

ebookers has followed up its strong third quarter results with news that it is expanding its operations into India at a time when other companies in the hard-hit sector are cutting back and laying off staff.

The company has said its fourth quarter, which traditionally sees the weakest results will be further hit by heavy investment in establishing its Indian presence - though according to the Guardian this will yield long-term benefits.
