AT&T chiefs ponder spin-offs
AOL and Disney wait in the wings...

AT&T executives are expected to meet today to consider options for selling off the company's cable television and broadband divisions.
The company's cable assets are likely to be merged with AOL Time Warner although no deal is likely to be announced this week, according to reports.
Disney is thought to be in pole position to come in on a deal for spinning off the telco's broadband interests.
Despite the reported interest, the only firm offer AT&T has so far received has been the rejected $53bn offer from Comcast for its broadband division in July.
