If you have any O2 mobile contract, even the £10 per month poverty SIM only deal, and threaten to cancel, they will offer you free 8MBit broadband for the lifetime of the mobile contract to retain your business.
Only gotcha, is you need to be where their Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) is available.
