Yes, broadband is now an essential part of customers' lives, but BT isn't.... If we set BT up with regulatory shelter and incentives to upgrade their infrastructure, we will hamstring the industry for another 25 years of not-really-very-competitive- competition.... The only reason BT is starting to get off their backsides is that Virgin Media's fibre network is starting to look like real competition for them. Divest Openreach and lets have an access provider that is really interested in providing operators with the services they need and want.
