It does not surprise me that Tiscali and other are now fouced on optimising their core bandwidth... but I wonder whether enough consideration has been given to understanding "consumption" and the impact of widespread "high definition" terminals. Multicast capability is one thing, but it is not enough to deliver a truly competitive position... that will require a much broader perspective, inculding broadband wireless and satellite alliances. But, the most important part of the puzzle remains customer acquisition and retention... which is dependent on creating service packages that improve the quantity and quality of life for people in both organisations and private lives... the key to this is collaboration and innovation...
