Fibre - but not in the UK - this goes back 30 years to a decision made by the then government to restricted BTs licence to prevent them from competing with Cable companies from the USA who wanted to invest in the UK but didn't like the idea of competition. Sadly our leaders, as ever, took the short term view and [against the wishes of UK businesses - I was there] banned BT from competing. The cable companies 'cherry picked' some went out of business and we are left with not much. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have 90% of my brain removed so that I can become a politician 'cos the pay is quite good and the mental strain is nil.
