TalkTalk has hired a CIO for the first time.
The company announced today that it has appointed David Cooper to the newly created post in April, after previously splitting responsibility for IT across a number of individuals within the company.
Prior to joining TalkTalk, Cooper was chief technology and operations officer at mobile operator 3 and has also worked for BT.
According to the company, Cooper will supervise the integration of TalkTalk's IT with that of ISP Tiscali, which TalkTalk's parent company Carphone Warehouse bought in May for £236m.
The deal was given the green light by the European Commission today.
