Comcast seals $72m AT&T deal

A cable giant is born...

US cable giant Comcast is set to take over AT&T's broadband division in a deal worth $72bn.

The deal marks the end of a prolonged courtship, during which Comcast increased its bid several times, creating a cable giant with a subscriber base of 22.3 million - far in excess of AOL Time Warner's 12.7 million.
