More women than men use AOL, making it the first UK ISP to have a predominantly female subscriber base.
That's the claim of a recent report from Forrester Research authored by Paul Jackson.
AOL has also narrowed the gap between its own subscriber base and the market leader, Freeserve, which accounts for 26 per cent of UK net users compared to AOL's 19 per cent.
AOL users are also more educated than their rivals, and are more likely to have a mobile phone, according to the survey.
