
Telecom Italia, has revealed it is to purchase French ISP Mageos, in a deal worth $93.5m.

Mageos, a division of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, will join forces with the French-based Telecom Italia subsidiary, 9 Telecom.
Jet Multimedia, a recently purchased Telecom Italia web services division, will pool its know-how of ebusiness, with 9 Telecom's operational management, and free internet service provision for the Mageos portal.
Oscar Cicchetti, International Vice-President of the Telecom Italia group, said in a statement: "Telecom Italia is acquiring an important associate at the heart of 9 Telecom, a frontline partner of choice to develop and distribute the new generation internet services."
