Kingston Communications has won a £1.5m contract with the Environment Agency in the UK to provide a voice network and voice messaging system.

In a five-year contract worth £1m, Kingston will implement and support 122 Siemens iSDX and Realitis phone systems. And in a separate three-year contract valued at £450,000, it will maintain and enhance the Environment Agency's automated voice messaging system used for emergency messages regarding people at risk from flooding.

The system is based on Kingston's Voiceware OpenTalk Emergency Alert software and has 26 interactive voice response platforms.
