Cisco to buy Aironet for $799m

Cisco Systems is to acquire Aironet Wireless Communications in a deal worth $799m.

Both boards of directors have approved the deal, which will see Cisco use Aironet's high-speed wireless LAN technology in its products.

The Aironet portfolio includes wireless adapter cards and access points that can be combined with Cisco products to link wired infrastructures and manage wireless LAN traffic.
