HP puts Gigabit Ethernet on copper

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has unveiled a range of switch and server modules which support Gigabit Ethernet on standard copper wiring.

The modules are designed for use with HP's ProCurve range of Ethernet switches, and support 1000Mbps connections over twisted pair copper cable.

They will be available from October, priced from $299.
