Cisco has appointed Bill Carrico as senior vice president for its small and medium-sized business division. Carrico's wife, Judy Estrin, was appointed in March as Cisco's chief technical officer.

Carrico succeeds Howard Charney, who left for personal reasons. The husband and wife team previously worked together for 3Com in the late 1980s.
