In brief: 3Com appoints president and chief operating officer

Bruce Clafin has been appointed as 3Com's president and chief operating officer. Claflin's role will include overlooking the company's networking business with four business units reporting to him: large enterprise, small to medium enterprise, carrier systems and client access. He will take over on 10 August.
